Why Families Choose Us

Families choose our clinic because of our highly trained, compassionate team with strong psychology backgrounds and nearly 20 years of experience serving our community.
We offer a wide range of psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents across many areas of need.
Parents consistently tell us that we have created a safe, welcoming space — one that feels warm, calm, and more like home than a clinic.
Many families return to us for reassessments and ongoing care as their children grow, and others come to us through word-of-mouth referrals, which we consider one of the greatest compliments. One father recently shared that several other parents on his sports team independently recommended our centre based on their positive experiences.
We take an individualized approach, meeting each child and family where they are, with the goal of helping them better understand how their child thinks, learns, and experiences the world — and supporting them in reaching meaningful therapeutic goals.

In addition to comprehensive psychoeducational and psychological assessment, our professional team conducts therapy using a variety of techniques, including:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps children and adolescents understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. CBT supports young people in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, developing practical coping strategies, and building skills to manage anxiety, mood difficulties, and behavioural challenges. CBT is often goal-focused and collaborative, helping children feel more confident and capable in everyday situations.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps children and adolescents who experience intense emotions, emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, or difficulties in relationships. DBT focuses on building skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach helps young people learn how to manage overwhelming feelings in healthier ways while strengthening their ability to cope with stress and maintain meaningful connections.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy is a strengths-based approach that helps children and adolescents separate themselves from the problems they are experiencing. Rather than seeing difficulties as defining who they are, young people are supported in understanding their experiences within a broader story of resilience, strengths, and growth. Narrative therapy encourages children and families to re-author their stories in ways that highlight competence, values, and hope.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) helps children and adolescents understand, express, and regulate their emotions in safe and supportive ways. This approach recognizes emotions as important signals and works to help young people identify, validate, and process their emotional experiences. EFT supports emotional awareness, self-compassion, and healthier responses to challenging situations, strengthening both emotional resilience and relationships. Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) brings parents into the therapy to help them learn nie to support their children’s

Family Therapy

Family Therapy focuses on improving communication, understanding, and connection within the family system. When a child or adolescent is struggling, the whole family is often impacted. Family therapy supports parents and caregivers in understanding their child’s needs while helping families develop more effective ways of interacting, resolving conflict, and supporting one another. The goal is to strengthen relationships and create a more supportive, emotionally safe home environment.

Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT)

Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) is an evidence-based, attachment-focused approach that empowers parents and caregivers to support their child’s emotional healing. EFFT helps families understand emotional distress, reduce unhelpful interaction patterns, and strengthen emotional connection. Parents are guided in learning how to respond to their child’s emotions in ways that promote safety, regulation, and resilience, while also addressing barriers that may get in the way of effective caregiving.

Relational Therapy (Teens & Young Adults)

Relational Therapy focuses on the importance of relationships in emotional development, identity, and wellbeing. For teens and young adults, this approach supports exploration of patterns in relationships with peers, family, and romantic partners, as well as the relationship with self. Relational therapy helps young people develop insight, emotional awareness, healthy boundaries, and more secure ways of connecting, supporting growth during key developmental transitions.
